    Good Podcasts: About the Creator

    sipmythoughts podcast

Tyler is a millennial Black man from Jackson, Mississippi. His passion for Black culture storytelling came after witnessing the disappointing coverage of Trayvon Martin by the mainstream media. Journalism and media experience helped Tyler realize there is a lack of Black stories in mainstream media. Most importantly, a lack in which Black lives, and the stories behind them are truthfully documented. He concluded that media covers Blackness differently and curates Black lives to be viewed as a threat in all areas of life.

Black people are not a monolith, but 99% of our experiences are shared.

After doing extensive research, Tyler created a unique strategic plan to start telling Black stories the way they should be reported: truthful and transparent. He was ready to take the spotlight off those mainstream media outlets and turn it on to himself. He has been telling Black stories unapologetically and exploring the similarities and differences rooted in Black culture ever since.
